Queue

Oracle Cloud integration · 19 node(s).

00Overview

Run an Oracle Cloud message queue straight from a flow — create and configure queues, then put messages onto them and consume them in batches, extend or shorten how long a consumed message stays hidden, and delete messages once they are handled. Read queue and dead-letter statistics, list channels, purge a queue, and move queues between compartments. Because queue changes happen asynchronously, the node also lets you follow work requests until each operation finishes.

Every field below is exactly what you see in the Flomation editor. Fields marked ● live picker let you choose from a list pulled live from your account — no IDs to look up.

01Connecting Queue

  1. The Authentication dropdown offers two paths. Choose Connect Oracle Cloud to pick a managed Oracle Cloud connection an admin has already set up — Flomation supplies the signing details for you. Choose API signing key (advanced) to enter the credentials by hand, as described below.
  2. In the OCI Console, open the profile menu (top-right) → My profile, then under Resources choose API keys → Add API key. Let OCI generate a key pair and download the private key, or upload your own public key.
  3. From the Configuration file preview OCI shows after the key is added, copy the values into the node's Tenancy OCID, User OCID, Region (a plain identifier such as uk-london-1) and Key Fingerprint fields.
  4. Set Compartment OCID to the compartment that holds (or will hold) your queues — it is required to create or list queues and scopes the other actions.
  5. Store the downloaded PEM as a Flomation environment secret (e.g. queue_secret) and select it in the node's Private Key (PEM) field; add a Private Key Passphrase secret only if the key is encrypted.

Pick an Environment on your flow (Flow Settings → Environment) so the secret resolves. Secret fields never show the value — they reference ${secrets.your_secret}.

07Notes & Limitations

Behaviours and constraints worth knowing before you build with these nodes.

  • Creating, updating, deleting, purging and moving a queue all run asynchronously and return a work-request id, so poll Get Work Request — or Get Queue for a queue's lifecycle state — until the operation settles before a later step relies on the result.
  • Message actions such as Put Message and Get Messages only work once a queue reaches the ACTIVE state, because they target the queue's own messages endpoint, which is not published while the queue is still creating.
  • A receipt returned by Get Messages stops working the moment the message's visibility timeout lapses and the message becomes available again, so delete or extend it before that window closes.
  • Message content travels as plain text, so serialise structured payloads to JSON before putting them and parse them yourself after getting them.
  • The listing actions walk pagination only up to an internal cap of 25 pages, so very large compartments or work-request histories can come back as a partial set flagged as truncated.
  • The Region must be a plain OCI region identifier such as uk-london-1, not a full endpoint URL.
