Logging

Oracle Cloud integration · 17 node(s).

00Overview

Manage Oracle Cloud Logging straight from a flow — create and organise log groups, add custom and service logs, tune their retention and enabled state, and move logs into other groups or log groups into other compartments. Search stored log content across your tenancy with Logging Query Language over a chosen time window, list the OCI services that emit logs, and list, inspect and delete the unified monitoring agent configurations that collect them. Most changes run asynchronously, so a flow can start them and then poll until they land.

Every field below is exactly what you see in the Flomation editor. Fields marked ● live picker let you choose from a list pulled live from your account — no IDs to look up.

01Connecting Logging

  1. The node's Authentication dropdown offers two ways to connect: Connect Oracle Cloud (the default, recommended for most operators) and API signing key (advanced) for supplying an existing key pair by hand.
  2. For Connect Oracle Cloud, pick or add an Oracle Cloud connection in your Flomation environment and follow its guided steps to authorise Flomation against your tenancy, providing the details it asks for such as your Tenancy OCID and Region; the connection then handles the API signing key for you.
  3. For API signing key (advanced), in the OCI Console open your user's API keys (via the profile menu → My profile, or Identity & Security → Users → your user) and choose Add API key; download the private key and note the Fingerprint shown after it uploads.
  4. Fill the node's Tenancy OCID, User OCID, Region (a plain identifier such as uk-london-1) and Key Fingerprint, and paste the key into Private Key (PEM) as the full PEM including its BEGIN/END lines — add a Private Key Passphrase only if the key is encrypted.
  5. Store the private key as a Flomation environment secret (e.g. logging_secret) rather than pasting it inline, then select it in the node's Private Key (PEM) field. Every Logging action also needs a Compartment OCID for the compartment you are working in.

Pick an Environment on your flow (Flow Settings → Environment) so the secret resolves. Secret fields never show the value — they reference ${secrets.your_secret}.

06Notes & Limitations

Behaviours and constraints worth knowing before you build with these nodes.

  • Creating, updating or deleting a log or log group, and moving a log into a different log group, run asynchronously and return a work-request id instead of the finished resource, so poll that work request (or the matching Get action) until the log or log group reaches its target lifecycle state before a later step relies on it.
  • A log's retention must be a whole number of days in 30-day increments from 30 up to 180, and Oracle Cloud rejects any other value.
  • List actions walk pagination only up to 25 pages, so a very large compartment or log group can return an incomplete set; narrow it with the available display-name or log-type filter rather than relying on one unfiltered list.
  • Search Logs runs Oracle's Logging Query Language over stored content and returns only entries inside the required Start Time and End Time window (RFC3339, e.g. 2026-07-22T09:00:00Z), so an empty result often means the window or query needs adjusting rather than the log being empty.
