00Overview
Oracle Cloud Language brings text intelligence into your flows: from a single piece of text you can detect the dominant language, sentiment, named entities, key phrases and personal information, classify the content, and translate it into another language, all using Oracle's pre-trained models. Alongside these you can manage the projects, custom models and endpoints that back trained models. Every action authenticates either by picking an already-connected Oracle Cloud account or by supplying an API signing key, and each run operates on one text value at a time.
Every field below is exactly what you see in the Flomation editor. Fields marked ● live picker let you choose from a list pulled live from your account — no IDs to look up.
01Connecting Language
- Set Authentication to Connect Oracle Cloud and pick an already-connected account, or choose API signing key (advanced) to enter signing details by hand.
- For the advanced path, generate an API signing key pair for your user in the Oracle Cloud console and upload the public key; Oracle then shows the matching Key Fingerprint to paste into the node.
- Copy your Tenancy OCID, User OCID and home Region (for example
uk-london-1) into their fields. - Put the OCID of the compartment that should serve the request into Compartment OCID — this is required on every action.
- Store the private key PEM (and its passphrase, only if the key is encrypted) as a Flomation environment secret, then select that secret in the node's Private Key (PEM) field.
| Field | Type | Details | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication | string | Connect Oracle Cloud, API signing key (advanced) | |
| Oracle Cloud connection | credential | Pick a connected Oracle Cloud account | |
| Region | string | e.g. uk-london-1 | |
| Private Key (PEM) | secret | The API signing private key — full PEM, incl. BEGIN/END lines | |
| Private Key Passphrase | secret | Only if the key is encrypted (optional) | |
| Tenancy OCID | string | ocid1.tenancy.oc1..aaaa… | |
| User OCID | string | ocid1.user.oc1..aaaa… | |
| Key Fingerprint | string | aa:bb:cc:… fingerprint of the uploaded API key |
Pick an Environment on your flow (Flow Settings → Environment) so the secret resolves. Secret fields never show the value — they reference ${secrets.your_secret}.

06Notes & Limitations
Behaviours and constraints worth knowing before you build with these nodes.
- Each text-analysis and translation action works on a single piece of text per run: despite the batch wording in their names, you pass one Text value and get one result back.
- Detecting language, sentiment, entities, key phrases and personal information, classifying text and translating all run on Oracle's pre-trained models and need no project, model or endpoint, which is why the project, model and endpoint actions exist only for custom-trained models.
- Creating a project returns it immediately in a CREATING state alongside a work-request id, so poll Get Project until its lifecycle state reads ACTIVE before relying on it, while deleting a project returns a work-request id you can follow through to completion.
- A freshly uploaded API signing key can take a short time to become active across Oracle Cloud, so a run attempted immediately after adding it may fail authentication until the key propagates.
- The list actions walk pagination only up to a fixed safe cap and flag the result as truncated when more remains, so in large compartments narrow the results with the display-name or lifecycle-state filters rather than relying on a full enumeration.
