00Overview
Create and manage Oracle Cloud Functions applications and the functions inside them — list, fetch, update, move between compartments and delete — and invoke any function on demand with a payload, straight from a flow. Browse Oracle's pre-built-function catalogue and its trigger types to discover ready-made functions, and use dry-run to confirm access before making a live call.
Every field below is exactly what you see in the Flomation editor. Fields marked ● live picker let you choose from a list pulled live from your account — no IDs to look up.
01Connecting Functions
- Every Functions node opens with an Authentication choice: Connect Oracle Cloud (recommended) uses a managed connection that Flomation sets up for you, while API signing key (advanced) lets you enter an existing user's signing-key details by hand.
- For Connect Oracle Cloud, create the managed connection once under your Flomation environment's connections by following the guided Oracle Cloud setup, then select it in the node's Oracle Cloud connection field.
- For the API signing key (advanced) path, sign in to the OCI Console, open the profile menu → My profile → API keys → Add API key, download the private key, and copy the Tenancy OCID, User OCID, Key Fingerprint and Region from the configuration-file preview Oracle shows you.
- Store the downloaded Private Key (PEM) as a Flomation environment secret (e.g.
functions_secret) and select it in the node's Private Key (PEM) field, then set the Compartment OCID the node should work in and add a Private Key Passphrase only if your key has one.
| Field | Type | Details | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication | string | Connect Oracle Cloud, API signing key (advanced) | |
| Oracle Cloud connection | credential | Pick a connected Oracle Cloud account | |
| Region | string | e.g. uk-london-1 | |
| Private Key (PEM) | secret | The API signing private key — full PEM, incl. BEGIN/END lines | |
| Private Key Passphrase | secret | Only if the key is encrypted (optional) | |
| Tenancy OCID | string | ocid1.tenancy.oc1..aaaa… | |
| User OCID | string | ocid1.user.oc1..aaaa… | |
| Key Fingerprint | string | aa:bb:cc:… fingerprint of the uploaded API key |
Pick an Environment on your flow (Flow Settings → Environment) so the secret resolves. Secret fields never show the value — they reference ${secrets.your_secret}.

06Notes & Limitations
Behaviours and constraints worth knowing before you build with these nodes.
- A function must reach the ACTIVE lifecycle state before it can be invoked, because Oracle only publishes the invoke endpoint the node resolves for you once provisioning has finished.
- An application cannot be deleted until every function inside it has been removed, so delete or relocate its functions first.
- Each list action walks pagination only up to a safe cap of 25 pages, so in very large compartments or applications narrow the results with the display-name, OCID, or lifecycle-state filters to avoid truncated output.
- Moving an application to another compartment also relocates every function it contains, rather than leaving them behind.
