Autonomous Database

Oracle Cloud integration · 24 node(s).

00Overview

Provision, clone and tear down Oracle Cloud Autonomous Databases straight from a flow — start, stop, restart, scale compute and storage, reclaim unused space, and move a database between compartments without opening the console. Back up and restore to a point in time, and list and manage backups and clones as part of an automated routine. Generate the client or regional connection wallet and fetch the connection strings a tool needs to connect, so a flow can hand a freshly built database off to the systems that use it.

Every field below is exactly what you see in the Flomation editor. Fields marked ● live picker let you choose from a list pulled live from your account — no IDs to look up.

01Connecting Autonomous Database

  1. In the node's Authentication field, choose how requests are signed: Connect Oracle Cloud (recommended) reuses a saved Oracle Cloud connection, while API signing key (advanced) lets you enter the raw signing-key fields on the node itself.
  2. For Connect Oracle Cloud, pick your account in the Oracle Cloud connection field — it supplies the tenancy, user, region, fingerprint and private key for you, so there is nothing further to paste.
  3. For API signing key (advanced), sign in to the OCI Console, open the Profile menu → My profile → API keys, choose Add API key, and let Oracle generate the key pair — download the private key and keep the Configuration file preview it shows next.
  4. Copy the values from that preview into the node: Tenancy OCID, User OCID, Region (for example uk-london-1) and Key Fingerprint, plus the Compartment OCID of the compartment your databases live in.
  5. Store the downloaded PEM as a Flomation environment secret (e.g. autonomousdatabase_secret) and pick it in the node's Private Key (PEM) field — add the Private Key Passphrase too if you protected the key with one.

Pick an Environment on your flow (Flow Settings → Environment) so the secret resolves. Secret fields never show the value — they reference ${secrets.your_secret}.

03Notes & Limitations

Behaviours and constraints worth knowing before you build with these nodes.

  • Most write actions — create, clone, scale, shrink, start, stop, restart, restore, backup, delete and compartment moves — are asynchronous and return a work_request_id immediately, so the database is not yet in its new state when the flow continues; poll db_get until its lifecycle state settles before acting on it.
  • Per-database actions target the database by its autonomous_database_id OCID typed in directly rather than chosen from a picker, so keep the OCID to hand — for example from a preceding List Databases action.
  • Deleting a database is permanent and irreversible once the work request completes, with no recycle bin, so create a backup or clone first if the data still matters.
  • Rotating a wallet invalidates every wallet previously downloaded for that database, so any client or flow still using an old wallet must be re-issued one before it can reconnect.
  • Always Free databases are a fixed small size, so the scaling action does not apply to them and any compute or storage sizing you set is ignored when Always Free is selected.
  • Listing databases in a large compartment is capped, so check the truncated output to tell a complete listing from a partial one before treating the result as the full set.
